A Vowel Please Carol (A Countdown to Disaster)

What a strange day, when we woke the weather resembled a Sunday afternoon in Millport....dreech. We decided to visit medieval town of Sarlat and Beynac which hosts a magnificent castle on the cliff top. We set off heading due south expecting 1 hour to Beynac, unfortunately I plugged Baynac into the sat-nav and we travelled 45 mins due north before we both twigged we were heading in wrong direction. 90 minutes after starting we were back at beginning!
We finally arrived in Sarlat for a 'late' lunch and then walked round town, which is very like York but instead of the shops selling Eccles cakes every 2nd one was crammed with tins of Foie Gras, Walnut Cakes and local wines. My tail was well between my legs after my costly error so I treated myself to Tarte au Citroen and a Tarte Frambois to cheer myself up. We then moved onto Beynac, but rain pretty constant and we only spent 10 mins taking photos from car. Was a pity as both places looked amazing.
Karls caught, killed and plucked a local chicken (I think) and stuck it in a pot with local red wine, mushrooms, shallots and herbs from the gite garden. 90 minutes later a glorious coq a vin was presented and devoured by us all. To thank her I once again thrashed her at table tennis.
Well off to Perpignan tomorrow and not sure of wifi situation, but we will update by hook or by crook. Still trying to secure tickets for Barcelona Bayern Munich game on Wednesday. Also trying to hook up with a couple of the Power's who are also on a pilgrimage to Barcelona next week and dropping in on relative of Liam.
