Slainte

Well woke up this morning and rain had cleared leaving a dark but dry day. Headed into Barcelona and walked along Las Ramblas which was starting to turn red and white with the influx of Bayern supporters ahead of the match tonight. Meandered through stalls and colourful markets and stopped to view the various human statues that are seen along the way. Most not happy when I took a photo and did not donate, trying to save my euros to buy a ticket for big game. Am going to head to Nou Camp tonight and hope a tout takes pity on me and gives a ticket at decent price.
We then headed to the Irish bar Flaherty's to visit Karla's cousin Moira, she gave us a great welcome and welcomed us to Barcelona. Kiera was in great form in the cuddle stakes and even coloured in a picture for Moira to put up behind the bar. Flaherty's is renowned for its food so we surveyed the tapas menu and despite the reputation of la breakfast ireland we opted for the more traditional catalonian dishes of pie la cottage and la lasagne. The food was brill and certainly filled us up. We took the family photo outside and promised to return tomorrow, hopefully with the Power party.
Moira asked where we had been and advised us that Sagrada Familia was not to be missed, so off we went on the metro to view this spectacular Gaudi creation. It is certainly stunning and the sculptures are breathtaking.....will be nice when it is finished.
After last night's dining in the rain sole (Karls), chicken (Kiers) and mixed gorilla - chicken, lamb, pork, sausage and rabbit (Fat Bob) tonight is going to be omelette for the ladies and a pie and bovril for RjL.
Weather looking good for tomorrow when we plan to visit Tibidabo the funfair that sits on the hill above Barcelona that featured in Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona the humdinger of a film from Woody Allen. We then plan to meet the Power contingent in the city and in the evening are dining with John's friend Derek and his wife in a popular tapas restaurant.
Hope everyone well.
